Android Studio Layout Preview Source

I'm looking to view the source code for the Layout Preview (generated from XML) in Android Studio. Does anyone know which files the relevant code is in within the SDK, or is it somewhere else entirely? I only ask because there are so many source files for Android Studio and the Android SDK, it would take a long time to search through all of them for this code.
