Using colors from color.xml in java code

Is there any way to call colors from color.xml in java? I have created an editor user can modify text using my custom TAGS i.e stack over flow using ** for bold I am also doing that but my tags are defrent. and working great!. now I have to give privileges to user that he/she can change the text color also by using my tags. but there is an limitation color can be used only those i have provded in colors.xml. how can i do this ?
